Its Our Future: The Power of Youth In The Face of Tar Sands

Climate Summer is coming to Burlington to join in on the Tar Sands action the week of July 23th to 29th. 

We are Team Vermont, 5 college students and recent graduates, and we will be facilitating this discussion of youth's role in combatting deadly energy and it's climate effects. 

In light of the one-year anniversary of the Kalamazoo oil spill, we are reminded of the direct effect that deadly energy poses to our future. In the face of Tar Sands, New England is directly at risk. This is a critical time for youth to take a stand for environmental and human health in New England. 

Before the speak outs on Sunday, July 29th and 30th, we urge you all to join us in discussion about how to maximize the youth voice in this movement. This event will be held at the Vermont Workers Center at 7pm on Wednesday, July 25. 

All ages are welcome and encouraged, light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!
